Martin Buckland is the Group Technical Director of Law At Work. He trained as a Barrister in the U.K. before returning to Jersey and working at one of the major local law firms.
Martin has advised both employers and employees over the course of his career having also worked for the Jersey Advisory and Conciliation Service (JACS).
Martin originally joined LAW in 2012 before setting up the U.K. arm of the Group, HR At Work, in 2016. Martin now advises clients primarily across the Channel Islands, U.K. and Isle of Man providing guidance and support to employers whether they are based on or offshore, or both.
In addition to his cross-jurisdictional work, Martin also oversees our technical compliance and Employment Tribunal work including representing clients at hearings.
Martin is married and has two boys who keep him busy. Work in the community is also important to him and he is Governor of a local primary school whilst also being ‘Akela’ at the local Cub Scout Group.
Whilst he was born and raised in Jersey, Martin is now based south of London travelling regularly to visit clients across the U.K. and Crown Dependencies.
