Ian is a registered nurse with over 36 years of experience working in health and social care.
He has experience in numerous roles, including staff nurse, cognitive behavioural therapist and as a service director for mental health and elderly services. Working for Health and Social Services, he spent five years developing and then implementing two new laws on mental health, the Capacity and Self-Determination (Jersey) Law 2016 and the Mental Health (Jersey) Law 2016.
Ian has been a registered home manager of a local residential and nursing home and is actively involved in executing the requirements of the Regulation of Care (Jersey) Law 2014. He holds a first-class honours degree in professional nursing practice and is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
