DESCRIPTION:With more and more people working with computers\, either office or home based\, for a greater part of their working lives\, the risks from badly designed workstations or simply sitting badly can have long term health issues and impact on productivity. This training is aimed to help persons given the responsibility of assessing the risks computer users are exposed to and providing sensible advice based on government advice and good practice covering information from the Jersey DSE code of practice and UK regulations. \nWho needs this training? \nAny person given the responsibility of assessing risks users are exposed to at computer workstations.  This training is designed to provide assessors with the knowledge and practical actions they need to take when assessing the risks faced by their colleagues using computers. \nLearning Outcomes \n\nUnderstand the main requirements of relevant legislation as they relate to display screen equipment use.\nDescribe the possible harmful effects to the eyes\, musculoskeletal system\, skin\, nervous system\, and psychological wellbeing of people that may be caused by the use of DSE.\nCarry out risk assessments\, identify techniques for reducing risk and make recommendations for corrective action to minimise harm that may be caused to DSE users and operators.\nAppreciate how DSE assessment is an integral part of overall health and safety management in an organisation.\n\nBenefits of this course \n\nTo meet the requirements of Health and Safety legislation.\nTo protect employees from the ill effects of working at computer workstations.\nProvide a cost-effective method to assess risks using in house trained.

DESCRIPTION:Who needs this training?\nAnyone managing\, carrying out or affected by work at height. This course does not cover the specialised skills required to carry out specific tasks\, these must be dealt with by other training. \n  \nWhy is this training required?\nFalls are the largest cause of accidental death in the construction industry. They account for 50% of all fatalities. Injuries can occur from falls of all heights and all working at height requires to be planned and managed. This means that for any work at height\, precautions are required to prevent or minimise the risk of injury from a fall. \n  \nLearning Outcomes\n\n\n\nUnderstand what is working at height and why it is important.\nRecognise the implications of falls from height to businesses and individuals.\nBe able to state the hierarchy of working at height and when it should be carried out.\nBe able to select the correct equipment for the task in hand.\nSpecify the issues in the correct use of equipment such as ladders\, mobile towers\, scaffolds\, MEWP’s\, harnesses etc.
