SUMMARY:Learning Disabilities\, Mental Health and Dementia Awareness Training
DESCRIPTION:Who needs this training?\nAll care staff working within the Care Industry. \n  \nThis training is a mandatory requirement for all care staff. This training provides insights and understanding in working with people who experience either learning disabilities\, mental health or dementia. It supports staff in providing the appropriate care and assistance to the individual and their families. The course uses the principles of person-centred care and is taught utilising anonymised case studies and requires a high level of learner participation. CPD Accredited. \n  \nLearning Outcomes\n\n\n\nUnderstand the difference between functional mental illness\, learning disabilities and\ndementia.\nRecognise the different conditions associated with mental illness\, dementia and learning disability.\nBe aware of the healthcare needs of people living with mental illness\, dementia or a\nlearning disability.\nRecognise the impact our behaviours have on service users care and comfort.\nIdentify the adjustments which may be necessary in delivering person-centred care.\nBe aware of the legal frameworks\, policy and guidelines relating to the treatment and\ncare of mental health\, dementia and learning disabilities.
